IndiGo announced its direct flights between Shillong and Dibrugarh under RCS scheme, effective October 26, 2021. The new route was inaugurated today with lamp lighting at the Shillong airport as well as Ministry of Civil Aviation in New Delhi. The ceremony was graced by Honourable Union Minister for Civil Aviation – Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia (virtually), Honourable Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma (virtually-TBC), and other eminent dignitaries from Shillong at the airport. The addition of Shillong as a destination, is a part of IndiGo’s strategy to enhance domestic connectivity to North-eastern parts of the country, to fulfil demand from regional centres while enhancing accessibility.
IndiGo also operates flights between Shillong and four other cities including Silchar, Agartala, Imphal, and Kolkata. The airline connects Shillong to key cities in the country through its hub in Kolkata.
