Hilton’s internal findings on travel suggests that short distance travel for leisure is growing in interest as consumers are craving to reconnect with family and friends and take a much-needed break from being at home the past few months. Great Small Breaks offers Guests Hilton’s signature services along with several benefits ranging from culinary, wellness and destination experiences to Food and Beverage credits, room upgrades and free cancellation till 24 hours prior, amongst others.

Hilton has been a trusted leader of the hospitality industry during the global crisis. The company launched new programs and adopted new protocols in response to support consumers around the globe. These include:
- Contactless Arrival and Hilton CleanStay: Through the Hilton Honors app and award-winning Digital Key technology, members have the option for a contactless arrival experience. Guests can check-in, choose their room, access their room with a digital room key and check-out using their mobile devices through the Hilton Honors mobile app at participating hotels. The Hilton CleanStay program is an industry-leading standard of hotel cleanliness and disinfection, created in collaboration with Lysol and Dettol maker RB and Mayo Clinic. Hilton CleanStay was implemented across Hilton’s 18 brands in July.
- Hilton EventReady with CleanStay: Hilton has developed a global meeting and events program designed to create experiences that are clean, flexible, safe and socially responsible. Event planners and attendees are expecting a higher standard of cleanliness than ever before and EventReady with CleanStay provides curated solutions and reimagined environments to meet and gather safely and comfortably.
- More flexible reservation and cancellation policies: Hilton introduced more flexible reservation and cancellation policies that provide greater travel flexibility by giving consumers the ability to change or cancel reservations, up to 24 hours before their scheduled arrival day, but not later than September 30, 2020.
- Hilton Honors extensions: Hilton implemented several adjustments to the Hilton Honors program to provide greater flexibility for its members and to help them maintain their status and Points across the remainder of 2020. These adjustments also include extending 2019 status through March 31, 2021 and 2020 member status through March 31, 2022, Points expiration through the end of 2020; the expiration date on unexpired Weekend Night Rewards as of March 11, 2020 and all newly earned Weekend Night Rewards on Hilton Credit Cards through August 30, 2020 are extended through August 31, 2021, as well as the ability for all members to roll over completed nights in 2020 to count towards 2021-2023 tier status qualification.
